Heater installation

The next job I decided to take on was installation of the heater. I had taken deliver from Gerry some time ago but never got around to installing it. The installation is very straightforward, its just a matter of offering it up under the dash and finding the best position for it. It in the manual it talks about the heater pipe location being marked on the bulkhead. I found these but they were no where near where I needed to place the heater. I believe the location is dependant on the actual heater used.

I decided to centralise it in the middle of the car and lift it slightly off the body. I have seen in other builds that you can add spacers at the bulkhead side to move the heater outlets further towards the rear of the car. I decided not to do that as I may add a fire extinquisher on top of the gearbox tunnel at some stage. This did mean that the water pipes needed to be pushed through the bulkhead . There is an advantage of doing that in that if the hose leaks it should not leak into the footwell!

I made a template to locate the drilling points.
