Before you can fully install the fuel tank you need to prepare it. In the manual it tells you to add neoprene to the back and bottom of the tank. This provide some isolation from the body vibrations etc. I purchased a meter of neoprene with double sided tape already applied. Ebay has just about anything you need these days. That was enough to fully cover the base and back of the tank with some to spare.

Preparing the tank

Neoprene added
There is a deliberate mistake with this photo! I discovered once I had run the rear wiring that i needed to make way for the sender cables to run up the back of the bulkhead. That required to cut a channel in the neoprene to leave space for it. That was easy to do however so not such a big deal!
The tank comes with fabricated brackets to bolt the tank in position. These also get a cover of neoprene for the same reason.

Neoprene stuck to the inside of the brackets.
